PNR Looking to the Draft

The Pacific Northwest Rangers are looking forward to next month's Big Time Soccer League Draft. Said club president, owner, and general manager Danny H, "We look forward to selecting the best possible players for the upcoming season. We have an umber of attack minded players we would love to add to the roster."

Who those players are remain a secret. "We can't divulge that information at this time because this is a competitive business" continued Danny H. "I'm not saying other GMs will copy our plan of attack, but there are always going to be 'sleepers' in a draft that you don't want to tip your hand about. Sure teams will go after players the caliber of a Landon Donovan or Dwayne DeRosario, but the middle rounds is where you make a season."

Coming in as an expansion side PNR have looked at trading picks in the upcoming draft for players on current BSL sides. One notable player in recent talks was Justin Braun. The young U.S. National Team prospect had a break-out season of sorts last year and should continue to do well next season. Said the PNR head man, "Justin is a talented player and one we seriously considered bringing in prior to the draft. It didn't work out because of some uncertainty surrounding his competition at the forward spot next season."

Braun would have been a great player for a new team to build around. He's established enough to be effective now, but young enough to build around. The only problem is, again, who he is competing against next season. There are quite a few young forwards that might be better suited for the young franchise PNR.

Stay tuned for more updates and news from PNR heading into the draft in a month's time.
